The K 98 pro board which has been recently released has turned out to be the usual Gravastar high quality and gorgeous design, involving really nice materials. The fit and finish is excellent and the black paint feels tough and has a great matte / semi gloss surface. The UFO Mechanical switches are very good and give the overall typing effect of a moderate, clear isolated thock with a slight and soft damping. The key caps are a bit of a mix. The best key caps that Gravastar has ever created are the pudding caps as available on previous boards where the skirt of the key cap was nearly transparent and transmitted a great deal of light from even just one LED. The top of those previous generation key caps were also excellent, die injected and extremely visible graphics on the top, which was already a thin layer so lots of skirt height left for the light to come through. These current key caps on this K98 are a mix of smokey, fully transparent key caps with a gloss top and moderately effective character print and the other half of the key caps are a short-skirted black key cap with a fairly bright and obvious green character print. The board works well, but it has a relatively subdued light output from the overall LED appearance. I would give this keyboard 101% marks if it came with a set of the “Old style” of key cap that I have referred to, such as the Cyberpunk, Neon Graffiti, Iron Purple, etc - these were phenomenal key caps from Gravastar. Otherwise, the keyboard works really well and certainly has the advantage of being more or less a full-size keyboard with the 10 key row section for all the accountants and data entry people out there! Battery has been excellent, although I haven’t pushed it to the end yet. I would really urge Gravastar to start marketing new batches of their old style key caps that I keep referring to - there are very few other high-quality sources like those on the marketplace and Gravastar could really make a major market go of that.
